Comitti
In 1850, Italian precision instrument maker Onorato Comitti opened a workshop in London and gained renown as one of the finest clockmakers in England. Today, Comitti & Sons is run by the fifth generation of the family and they continue to produce timepieces that are globally sought after.
Handmade in England, The Navigator clock is a tribute to clockmaker John Harrison (1693-1776) who made the world’s first marine chronometer. This allowed British naval officers to accurately calculate their longitude position for the first time - an extraordinary advantage in their quest for global exploration. The Congreve, or Rolling Ball Clock, is named for its inventor Sir William Congreve. Instead of a traditional pendulum, time is kept by a ball rolling along a track that trips the escapement at each end and moves the hands of the clock forward.
