Limited Edition of 2,000pcs
A new limited-edition watch commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Caliber 9S mechanical watch movement. The new GMT watch lifts the imagination skyward with a beautiful blue dial that illustrates a sea of clouds at daybreak. In the early morning, humid air forms dense clouds that overlap to create a beautiful tapestry in the sky. The shade of blue is inspired by the sky over Mt. Iwate when it is blanketed by this sea of clouds. A rotating sapphire bezel in blue and white elevates the design while allowing for a total of three time zones to be read at once. Inside is the Grand Seiko Caliber 9S86. Assembled at the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi by skilled craftsmen and women, the Caliber 9S86 beats 10 times per second, enhancing rate stability.

The coastal waters of Japan are influenced by the flow of the Kuroshio Current, one of the world’s major ocean currents, as well as by the nutrient-rich waters of the Oyashio Current, creating one of the world’s most diverse ocean regions. The dynamic undulation of the waves of these ocean currents is expressed in the powerful dial pattern of this watch, which also uses a unidirectionally rotating bezel with an insert made of ceramic. However, unlike last year’s Spring Drive diver’s watch, which was black, this year the dial and bezel are in Grand Seiko blue.

Grand Seiko Spring Drive watches are handcrafted by the skilled artisans of the Shinshu Watch Studio. The workshop, located in the city of Shiojiri, looks out upon the Hotaka Mountains, which were born long ago from volcanic activity that reshaped the continent and pushed the peaks up from beneath. Powerful winds and snow sculpted the faces of the cliffs over many long years to create a dynamic mountain range that is honored by this powerful sport watch.
Grand Seiko Elegance GMT 39.5 SBGJ271

A mechanical GMT showcasing a spectacular dial that interweaves nature and culture. Japan is a place where the natural charms of the seasons are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Taking up this concept, the latest Grand Seiko Hi-Beat GMT dial expresses the beauty that can be achieved by observing the interplay between nature and culture.
Consider the lacquered floors one would find in a traditional Japanese home or a Buddhist temple and how they become a prism of the natural world around them. Soft white snow accumulating on the branches of the trees can reflect off the dark floors, causing them to shine as white snow itself. And yet the definition of floorboards remains. The inhabited world reflects nature back to us – a fresh snow cover, or yukigesho – and is captured in the dial of the new SBGJ271.
Combined with the calming, stone-like grey of the GMT hand, this model imparts the feeling of a quiet place – a traditional home or a temple – during a Japanese winter.

All Grand Seiko Spring Drive timepieces are designed, made, assembled and adjusted by the skilled craftsmen and women of the Shinshu Watch Studio, which is located in central Japan and surrounded by the Hotaka mountain range whose tallest summit is 3,190 meters high. As the Hotaka mountain range was created by volcanic activity, its peaks and slopes have sharp ridges and sheer cliffs which, even when carved by the wind and snow over the millennia, reveal nature at its most dramatic. This watch’s dial has the color and texture that typify the geology of the Hotaka range.
