When choosing a unisex timepiece, finding a size that balances comfort and style is essential. Here are some guidelines to help you make an informed choice:

Wrist Circumference: Start by measuring the wrist circumference with a flexible tape measure, wrapping it just above the wrist bone. If a tape measure isn't handy, a strip of paper or string works too—just mark the overlap, then measure it with a ruler.

After determining the wrist size, you can choose a watch case diameter and band length that will work best.

Watch Case Size: Unisex watches typically range from 30mm to 44mm and above in diameter. For wrists measuring around 14cm to 18cm, a watch in the 34mm to 40mm range usually looks proportionate. Larger wrists, around 19cm and above, might find watches from 40mm to 44mm more suitable.

Watch Band Length: The band material (metal, leather, rubber, etc.) affects the watch's fit. Ensure the band is long enough for comfort, with adjustable options like removable links in metal bands or multiple holes in leather or fabric straps. Some brands also offer short or long straps, as well as additional metal links can be purchased for the perfect fit.

Using these criteria, you can feel confident that the unisex watch you choose, whether a personal purchase or a thoughtful gift, will be visually appealing and sit comfortably on the wrist. The life expectancy of your watch can vary widely but can often last for generations if well cared for. Proper watch care, which includes avoiding extreme temperature changes, conducting regular cleaning, and providing protection from physical shocks or magnetic fields, can extend the life of your timepiece.

We recommend servicing your watch to ensure its longevity and accuracy. Handling
your piece with respect will help avoid unwanted scratches and damage. Always ensure your winding crown is pushed and/or screwed down to prevent water or dust penetration.

Expect to overhaul the movement of a mechanical watch every 5 to 7 years. For a quartz battery-operated watch, anticipate an overhaul every 7 to 10 years. These timepieces will also require a cell replacement every one to two years, and water-resistant types will need gasket replacements when cells are changed.
